Cardowan Moss lies immediately east of Hogganfield Park and can be accessed on foot with entrances at Avenue End Road, Mossvale Road and Darnaway Avenue in Garthamlock. Cardowan Moss lies in the centre of the map immediately north and east of Mossvale Road. It was declared a LNR by Glasgow City Council (GCC)  in 2006.

The main entrance at Avenue End Road can be reached by using the ‘Friends’ pedestrian traffic island that links the LNR with Hogganfield Park LNR.

Its network of footpaths take you through woodland via ponds and on to a raised bog.

The woodlands provide a refuge for common birds whilst frogs, toads, dragonflies and damselflies can be found, particularly in and around the ponds.

Whilst it is owned by GCC, the LNR is managed by Forestry Commission Scotland through a 10 year lease with the Council.
