This broadleaved woodland, with many ancient Oaks, is located in Drumchapel and may be accessed from Peel Glen Road, Drummore Road, Ladyloan Avenue and Monymusk Place. See Map. Note that the LNR boundary covers the woodland both west and east of Peel Glen Road. It was declared a LNR in 2006.
It is home to the Purple Hairstreak butterfly and a host of common woodland birds as well as Roe Deer and the Red Fox. It is also a good place for plants with Bluebell amongst the 200+ species which can be found.
This Reserve is one of three that have been leased to the Forestry Commission by the Council.
